Chessington
World of Adventures brings it’s mission to be a theme park for
families first and foremost to life with the opening of a major new area
specially created for two to eight year olds (and their mums and dads!). And to
ensure that they get the best possible deal, for every paying adult, a KID
GOES FREE.
Families are invited to enter the Dragon’s lair
and enjoy an adventure of wonder, excitement and entertainment with the opening
of Land of the Dragons.
Strictly for young
families, Land of the Dragons is jam packed with activities, rides and
entertainments and opens on March 2008 at Chessington World
of Adventures.
Play-time Paradise
Enter the free and
easy, mythical and mystical realm of Land of the Dragons where the cheeky,
bouncing baby dragons play. First stop for little humans is Dragon’s Playhouse,
a place where they can enjoy all of the slippy slidey, spinny, bouncy things
that playful young dragons love to do - in an indoor play paradise of puzzles,
mazes, games and soft play activities over two mammoth floors of fun. And those
adults who get puffed out just watching the little ones play can get a second
wind at Dragon’s Tale Café, where they can keep an eye on their little
adventurers whilst re-lighting their fires with a range of hot and cold
refreshments! Then it’s outward bound and up, up, up and away to explore the
Canopy Capers, a mega adventure of rope ladders, wooden bridges, and
hidden escape routes leading to the little dragons’ amazing secret tree-top
lair. The scramble ends with a special squidgey, stretchy, springy, bungy
bridge. As you explore the rest of the land watch out as you come across
Frazzle - the sleeping dragon – beware of the water exploits as he awakens!
Puppet Show Shenanigans
Meet
the mischievous dragon duo Spike and Cinders who are the stars of a fiery and
fun puppet show running regularly throughout the day at the Dragon’s Tale
Theatre, right next door to the café.
This troublesome
twosome will delight and enthral Guests with an action packed tale of the fun
and games, fantasy, magic and mayhem of a little Dragon’s life.
Although the best of
friends, be prepared for some good humoured Dragon bickering as one is always
getting into mad-cap scrapes – and the other is left to get them off the hook!
All Aboard for Rock ‘n’
Rolling Dragon Boat Fun
Round and round, up and down,
back and forth you go … just how dizzy you’ll feel nobody knows … that’s what to
expect from Sea Dragons and Griffin’s Galleon, two rocking and rolling family
boat rides, suitable for all the family! Hang on to your hats for a dizzying
journey across choppy waters on a voyage of giggles and laughs.
Dragon’s Fury
Sponsored
by Skips, a fantastic family ride with a spectacular spin in its tail, the fiery
frenzy of Dragon’s Fury curls around the Land of the Dragon’s and takes Guests
on a thrilling journey of twists and turns, dips and dives – not forgetting
spins, spins and more spins! Riders travel along the 540 metres of track four
at a time, seated back to back in pairs.
As you are propelled along by
the rage of a furious dragon’s breath and the lash of its mighty tail, your
flame red carriage begins spinning randomly, clockwise … anti-clockwise … fast …
then faster still … as you negotiate steep climbs and swooping drops. No ride
is ever the same – the spin factor depends on who sits where.
Every time you change places,
you’ll get a different spin experience! Height restriction of 1.2m applies;
average 6/7 year old.
Plus a whole world
of family adventures
And outside the Land
of the Dragons there’s a whole world of fantasy, fun and magic at Chessington
with over 90% of rides, attractions and shows for the under 12s. Experience the
fantasy of Hocus Pocus Hall and meet Jink the Goblin and his cheeky friends in
an incredible 4-D walk through experience. More mischief is in store in
Beanoland where Dennis and his friends are ready and waiting to spring
surprises. And the fangtastic Vampire is always a big hit with all the family –
and with a height limit of just 1.1m – the average four year old - it’s a must
for little thrill seekers wanting to cut their coaster teeth.
