The Flora Twort Gallery is a
charming little gallery and restaurant, once the home and studio of local
artist Flora Twort. It now displays of her delightful paintings &
drawings, which form a very personal record of Petersfield between the
wars.

the story of the Borough from the earliest times, highlighting the aspects
of its history that makes Gosport unique .... fascinating displays, life
sized costumed figures and archive video.
Havant Museum

Local History displays include
former industries, transport, shops and commerce, tourism, leisure, and
entertainment, famous people, local government, law and order, welfare and
education, religion, local buildings. In an attractive Victorian flint
building, the museum displays the area's history & development and the
nationally important Vokes firearms collection.

The Iron Age Museum tells the
story of Danebury Ring, an Iron Age hillfort.
It was excavated by Prof Barry Cunliffe between 1969 and 1988 becoming one
of the most intensively studied sites of the British Iron Age (750 BC to
the Roman invasion 43AD).
The museum has life-sized models and reconstructions, as well as finds
from the excavations, creating a picture of how people farmed, fought,
worshipped and died, more than 2000 years ago.

Rockbourne Roman Villa is located
near Fordingbridge in a picturesque and peaceful part of Hampshire close
to the New Forest. Today you can walk around the remains of the villa and
visit the site museum which displays many of the fascinating objects found
on the site and shows what life was like for the Roman Britons who lived
here over 1600 years ago.

St. Barbe Museum has been
established to tell the special story of the coastal strip between the New
Forest and The Solent, with its fascinating past and present.

Treadgolds, Ironmongers of
Portsea, was established in 1809 and traded until 1988. It was opened as a
museum in 1995, and brings to life a unique piece of social and industrial
history. The business still contains machinery, tools and much of the
stock used throughout the period.

Selborne, Alton Hampshire. GU34 3JH
The attractive village of Selborne
and its beautiful countryside is famous for its association with the 18th
century naturalist Gilbert White. In his book The Natural History of
Selborne, he meticulously records his observations on the plants, birds
and animals of this lovely part of Hampshire. The Reverend Gilbert White
(1720-1793) is regarded as England's first ecologist. He lived at "The
Wakes" most of his life. The rooms have been furnished in the 18th century
style and include items of his furniture, beautifully embroidered bed
hangings and portraits of his family. The original manuscript is also on
display.
Peninsula Barracks, Winchester Hampshire. SO23 8TS
The Light Infantry was formed in
1968 from the former County Light Infantry Regiments of Somerset and
Cornwall, Shropshire, Yorkshire and Durham. The museum shows glimpses of
the past but concentrates on a modern Regiment and more recent events
around the world, including Cyprus and Hong Kong. Light Infantry Battalions
have served in Northern Ireland since 1969 and were in Berlin for the
building and demolition of the Wall.

The Museum at
Petersfield in Hampshire, England, was founded by Judy Sparrow in 1984.
Judy had been collecting bears for several years before that, and they'd
soon spilt out of the display case she devoted to them in the corner of
her antiques shop. By the mid-1980s, Judy realised that more and more
people were becoming interested in bears, and she decided to devote the
whole of her antiques shop to them (this was in the days when antique
bears were a lot easier to buy and sell!)
