 Thorpe
Park’s high octane list of thrill rides is getting an injection of Oriental
adrenaline for 2005 as the legendary Samurai moves in. The warlord
of white knuckle rides, Samurai takes riders through 360 degrees of sensational
stimulation and like the famed warriors of Japan it is capable of unleashing
mighty forces of fearsome energy that will leave the uninitiated dazzled, disorientated
… and full of respect.
The best
preparation to face Samurai is to understand its power. The secret to a
Samurai’s might is Bushido – the Way of the Warrior – which demands total
freedom from fear. The warrior must transcend fear to achieve ultimate power
and the best way to conquer this ride is to face the fear and ride it anyway!
A
formidable force to be reckoned with, only those totally mentally and physically
prepared should take on the might of the Samurai. Riders are strapped into five
seater pods with their legs dangling frighteningly free.
The
pods are situated at the end of a mighty mechanical arm which lifts and rotates
them, gradually building speed and creating G-forces of plus 5 and minus 3 as
well as a centrifugal force which sets the pods spinning 360 degrees 60 feet
above the ground.
The
awesome Samurai joins an adrenaline soaked line up of white knuckle thrills at
Thorpe Park including the red hot Nemesis Inferno, the record breaking world’s
first ten looping roller coaster, Colossus, the gravity defying Detonator and
buttock clenching wet and wild Tidal Wave.
