Christmas Grotto. To begin the experience you will meet some of our friendly
farm animals before you enter a magical world full of animated characters in a
variety of winter wonderland settings.
As you walk through the different scenes, you can enjoy friendly banter with the
impish elves before your children meet Santa to receive their very own presents.
For those of you who are too old for a present, a complimentary mince pie and
hot fruit punch awaits!

People will be
able to take a step back in time this Christmas when then they visit Milestones,
Hampshire’s living history museum.
Throughout
December visitors to the museum in Basingstoke can celebrate the festive season
in time old tradition as they stroll into Christmas past.
Families will be
able to wander through the network of streets and peek into the many shop
windows decorated with treasures from the late Victorian period and austere
1930s Britain. Don’t forget to visit Santa, who will be making a special
appearance weekends from Saturday 3 December.
And for those
demanding a real treat there will be a rare opportunity to visit the museum
after dark, as Milestones hosts two special Christmas Gala Evenings.
The evening events
will take place on Friday 8 and 15 December from 7pm to 10pm and will offer
seasonal music, a Punch and Judy show, traditional ales in the museum’s
Edwardian pub, costumed characters and a Christmas market.
Father Christmas
will also visit the museum handing out presents in the cobbled streets.
The County
Council’s Executive Member for Recreation and Heritage, Councillor Margaret
Snaith, said: “Milestones is ideal for the family at any time of the year but is
particularly special at Christmas time.
“I encourage
everyone to try something different this festive season and step back in time
with a stroll around the decorated shop fronts or attend one of the rare evening
gala events.”
Tickets for the
Gala Evenings cost £8.75 for adults, £8 for concessions, £5.25 for children and
£25 for families (two adults and two children). Children under five can attend
free of charge. There is a special price of £6.50 for groups of 15+. To

Christmas Play Sessions Information - All proceeds
going to Brain Tumour UK
Our Christmas sessions will run at two locations:
Thursday 20th December at Otterbourne Village Hall and Friday 21st December
at Shirley Methodist Church Hall. They are suitable for children from zero
to eight years old.
After a visit to Father Christmas and receiving an appropriate gift there
will be an opportunity for an hour long free play session on our equipment.
There will be a three inflatable's and a range of soft play available for
the children to burn of some excess energy on. We will also be serving
refreshments.
One of the inflatable's is reserved for the younger children to ensure that
they can have plenty of fun without getting squashed by the older ones!
The prices are £6 * / child, with all proceeds going to Brain Tumour UK.
Places are booked on a first come first served basis so it is recommended
that you book in advance, although it may be possible to come on the day if
there are still spaces.
